Epidemiology of Grapevine Red Blotch Disease Progression in Southern Oregon Vineyards

چکیده

Grapevine red blotch disease (GRBD) is an emerging caused by grapevine virus (GRBV). It widespread in most United States winegrape production regions and differential spread dynamics have been reported between the regions. This study surveyed eight vineyard sites southern Oregon over four years for progression of GRBD incidence. The vineyards included five that were or older three three-years-old. incidence blocks ranged from 2.81 to 58.78%, while younger it 0.29 1.11%. Some implemented frequent scouting, removing infected vines replanting. these remained <5% survey period. However, with no roguing replanting, increased nearly 30-fold after years. We analyzed spatial distribution 2020 found highly aggregated based on Spatial Analysis Distance Indices (SADIE). In a separate study, we also tested GRBV infection status asymptomatic next symptomatic inform decision-making when Out 410 surrounding 41 vines, only two positive GRBV. Additionally, 2021, previously identified possible alternative host species: blackberries (Rubus armeniacus) wild/feral grapes (Vitisriparia) collected areas sites. was present 10 70% wild grape samples both 10% blackberry 2020. titer low not detected 2021 samples. These results indicate potential importance as hosts vineyards, unlikely be epidemiological significance.

Grapevine Rootstocks for Oregon Vineyards, EM 8882 (Oregon State University Extension Service

Grafting, which involves combining two different varieties or species to form a plant with new characteristics, is a technique known from ancient times in tree fruit and grape production. It was, however, used in viticulture only for certain special cases: to change variety, increase vigor, or increase limestone tolerance. The principal reason for the increased use of grafting in viticulture wa...

BIOLOGY AND SPREAD OF GRAPEVINE RED BLOTCH-ASSOCIATED VIRUS Principal Investigator: Co-Principal Investigator: Collaborator:

Grapevine red blotch-associated virus (GRBaV) was isolated from table and wine grapes, as well as rootstocks, affected by red blotch, a recently recognized viral disease. Phylogenetic analyses revealed the clustering of GRBaV isolates two groups (clades) of genetic variants (Krenz et al., 2014, Al Rwahnih et al., 2015). Producing and using a full-length infectious clone of a representative isol...

The grape berries due to containing organic acids, sugars, aromatic compounds, phenolic compounds (including anthocyanins, flavanols, flavonols, stilbenes (resveratrol)), tannins, and oil in the pulp, skin, and seed have numerous health benefits for human health. In this study, we investigated genetic and phytochemical characteristics of four famous grapevine cultivars (Shiraz, Sirch, Panje Aro...

The Occurrence of Grapevine Fanleaf Virus in Washington State Vineyards

Grapevine degeneration in grapevines caused by Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV) has been documented in many viticultural regions worldwide (Andret-Link et al. 2004). It is one of the major economically important virus diseases affecting the longevity of grapevines and reducing the fruit yield and fruit quality. Infected grapevines show a range of foliar symptoms consisting of leaf deformation, ye...
